At the Club Committee meeting in December 2020, Chairman John Newberry informed the Club of his intention to step down from the role. John is a valued member of the Club and local community and the Club have accepted his resignation. We would like to thank John for his time and efforts, especially his role in helping to obtain the friendlies against Cardiff City FC in recent years.
We are excited to announce that Lee Bridgeman has been elected as Taffs Well FC Chairman. Lee is very well known to the football community in south Wales, having managed the Club for 7 seasons between 2010 and 2017 before becoming our Director of Football. Lee guided the Club during its most successful period, winning four League Cups and two South Wales Senior Cups and is passionate about developing youth.
Lee Bridgeman: “I would like to thank John for the role he has played at the club. I am grateful to the commitee for giving me this opportunity to drive the club forward and I look to introduce some exciting plans for the future, both short and long term. ”
In addition to Lee, Adrian "Bambi" Needs has been appointed Vice Chairman to provide further support. Bambi has been part of the Taffs Well coaching staff for many years.
The Club will look to unveil a new first team manager shortly, as well as additional players to bolster the squad. As a Club we are looking to grow our role within our local communities and ensure a strong viable path for young players from an early age, through the Academy and into the first team. Whilst we await to see when football matches can resume in Wales, we will be working hard to develop a philosophy and direction for the Club that the committee, coaching staff and players can adopt to drive the Club to the next level. We hope you are safe and healthy and for an improved and successful 2021.
