There have been a substantial number of new faces that show a statement of intent for next season, but who are the new Wellmen?
Most notably, former Pontypridd Town manager and Barry Town United coach, Lee Kendall, became the new Taffs Well boss. Lawrence Badman remains at the club as his assistant manager.
Kendall has a great reputation in Welsh football, winning the double with University of South Wales 1st and maintained JD Cymru South status with the Dragons – having been unbeaten in 9 of his 11 games in charge.
And since Kendall’s arrival, new signings have followed. Jordan Knott has signed from Camarthen Town after appearing 125 times in the topflight of Welsh football.
He was the first player to announce he was leaving the Camarthenshire based side after their relegation from the JD Cymru Premier.
And Knott clearly had his eyes set on Taffs Well, as the leftback’s father has previously managed the Wellmen.
Goytre United duo, Josh Allen and Louis Gerrard, have also made the move to the Gates of the Valleys. Both players have previously played under Lee Kendall at the Dragons before their moves to the Port Talbot based side.
Louis Gerrard will play in yellow and black once again after playing for Taffs Well at youth level. He has also made 42 appearances in the Welsh topflight and won the league with Barry Town United in 2017.
Another player who returns to Rhiw Dda’r is Lloyd Toghill. His father has also appeared for the club.
Toghill has previously appeared for Newport County, Pontypridd Town and Caerau Ely. He donned the captain’s armband whilst at the latter.
A familiar face has also been added to the ranks. Central midfielder, Jack Fox has returned after a season in Australia at Albion Rovers.
And it is not just on the pitch that has been reinforced.
Former Careau Ely boss, Craig Sampson, has been added to the coaching staff. Sampson gained promotion to the Cymru South with the Young Guns but was relieved of his duties after a difficult start to the season.
Prasang Shrivastava has also joined up with Kendall. He has worked with him at Pontypridd Town, as the performance analyst, at Barry Town United as an academy coach and at the University of South Wales.
The only departure has been last season’s top goal scorer, Jordan Carey. He has made the short trip up to A470 rivals, Pontypridd town.
